Reciever Hitch, but what about adaptor plug

I've been wanting to install a reciever on my 04 taco and I was about to buy one but then I realized that I also need that electrical adaptor plug for trailor lights.....I dont really need one for trailor brakes because I dont plan on towing anything that big but every now and then I have to tow a small U-Haul with a 800lbs or so in it....where would I get one of those adaptors and how do I install it....THANKS!

Most of the UHAUL places will carry these adaptors. All you need to do is to tap into one of your rear lights. It takes about 15 minutes to hook it up.

If you already have the factory tow package, you should have a 7 pin wire socket on the vehicle. If you do, all you will need is a 7-4 pin adapter (most light trailers use a 4 pin wire harness). You can find them at most auto parts stores and Wal-Mart should also carry them.

I would check with the dealer. It doesn't make sense that Toyota would make two different harnesses, one with the tow package, and one without. More likely, there is a plug connector somewhere underneath that the tow package harness connects to.
