Recent Jeep converts

Well, after 13 years of Jeep CJ'in it, we have converted to the Yota world. Just bought an 89 4Runner that has been sitting in a pasture for the past two years and in the process of making it road and trail worthy again. It is absolutely BONE stock, even has the factory mud flaps, so we're really starting from scratch. Central NC here, frequent visitors to Uwharrie National Forest, have even made it to Tellico, Monteagle, and all the way to Moab....so we are really looking forward to getting on the trail again. Right now it and its transmission are sitting in opposite corners of the garage, waiting for the clutch to go back in, but soon we will be looking for opinions on parts/mods to make a daily driver really offroad capable. Look forward to talking and wheelin with y'all.....

Welcome to the brighter side

I've never owned a Jeep and while I envy the off-roading fellowship it seems to cultivate I can tell you that I sure enjoy getting into my truck everytime I hear a coworker complain about all the engine problems he was having with his Wrangler.

I meant the lighter side of STRESS
Pockets get emptied pretty quickly but those are to make the Toyota nicer. Not constantly trying to get it back to stock specs

i used to have a 94 wrangler 155k. Just switched to yota about 2 months ago.Less Tripes to the mechanic i guarentee you. Miss the torque on the wrangler though. Went threw 2 trannies in a year had enough.

I'm two years out since having my Full Size Jeep (81 Wag). I miss the personality and style. After my work to the rig I felt like I had a machine fit for the bush (Except for the 727 going out every 2 years; and the fuel pump for the aftermarket fuel injection going out every year). But with the grocery getter comments came increased reliability. I'm happy. But now that I don't own the Wag, its much easier to wax poetic about it.
