I went to the Toyota dealer to get a set of replacement bearings for both rear wheels. The guy at the dealer said that I was going to have to get a new set of the little abs rotors that are on the end of the axle for the abs sensor. He said that the old ones were going to have to be cut off in order to replace the bearings. Is this true? Is there any other way to do it w/o cutting the rotors for the sensor?

I was also wondering about bearings, because my front end is making noise. I belive its either my tires or bearings but not sure. Anyone have info on how much they would cost front or rear.

I had heard you do need to cut the wheel speed sender off in order to press on the new bearings.
....so yes, I think this is true.

Think you can press out the bearings w/o cutting the ring, but you make the ring weak when you press it off......you might as well cut it off and replace it

No you don't necessarily need to cut off the reluctor or the bearing retainer. I've done it twice now just using a press to get the bearing, 2 retainers and the reluctor off all at once. Just make sure you remove the c-clip. Also just because I've done it doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you, so make sure you have a backup plan if it doesn't work. Your other option is to use a bearing puller to remove the reluctor first and then push the bearing and lower retainer off. Also you may want to look at FrankenTaco's write-up, he has a good picture of why it's not a good idea to try and cut the reluctor and retainer off.
