Rear Heater Core Leaking
That's right kids the heater core the rear heater in my sister '94 in leaking. Is this a dealer only item does anyone know? Has anyone ever replaced one? Any tips on doing it?

I helped a buddy change his, it's not too hard. Remove the console between the seats, disconnect the coolant lines below the truck and unbolt the heated core. I don't remember the price of the core, but it is a stealer only item.
The other option, if you never use the rear heater, is bypass it by undoing the lines and stick a piece of hose from one to the other so no coolant goes through the heater.

Thanks for the info. Yes it is a dealer only item and not a cheap one. $227 was the lowest quote I could get. To top that off, apparently it's not a common part. I spoke to three different dealers who told me they don't ever stock them and finding on in the US is tough. If I order it they would have to get it from Japan and it could take up to two weeks.
I think I'll either have it repaired at a radiator shop or try the junkyard.
