Rear disc setup
I did a search on this and I was not able to find what I am curious about. Ok so here is goes. Is/Would it be possible to take the rear disc setup off a 4th gen 4runner and fab a bracket to get it to fit on the rear of a 3rd gen? Maybe you could use a bracket and rear caliper from a 4th gen and a front disc from a taco or something? If I remember correctly the 4th gen are not 6 lug, but I though that I have heard of people using taco front rotors before. What do you think?

I think BruceTS was the only one I remember talking about actually doing something like that.
Try giving him a PM and see what he says on that topic.

Thanks I will try to get a hold of him. It seems to be a reasonable thing to do. The only hangups I see is maybe the rear ebrake cables being different. But correct me if I am wrong but they should be the same axels right?

I don't think it's as simple as it sounds (I think they are different), but ask Bruce, he'd know.

The flange on the newer 4runners/Tacomas uses a 3bolt flange where we have a 4 bolt flange. So it would not be a simple process. I think getting rear discs off a sequoia and pressing our axles into them might be more of a viable option. That is if they fit.
Otherwise the FROR full floater setup is also a good option.

Most land cruisers have full floating rears, so getting the axle/bearing/abs collar to be happy would be a trick. I am keeping my eyes open for a wrecked sequoia still. Most toyota recyclers wont sell just the brake setup without the axles.

RunnerUp, do you have a parking brake with that setup?
Which Chevy calipers are you running on there?
.....for those that are wondering APO = All Pro Off-road

I looked at an FJ last night and it looked to have a 4bolt flange and then another bracket that actually attached to the flange that held the caliper. I didnt see an ebrake attachment, however I am thinking that it might be a mini drum stlye inside the rear disc. I dont know all of this to be true but if someone else does please chime in!

For people that haven't seen this, take a look at the pic below.
