Rear Diff armor

Well 3rd gen owners, I have found a cheap and easy way to add rear protection to your 3rd gen runner.....

trail gear rear diff armor fits onto the rear of our axles housing.

I just had to ground down a little of the tube metal by the fill plug.

Had to also cut and re weld the brake line bracket (to the left of the armor) back on.

trd or not, i can say trd i't probably work, but non trd it wouldn't work. For the non trd i'd say use a sewer diff cap.

Well i'm planning on making a custom front mount on my diff. This just covers the weakest part of the diff. The bottom has a lot of metal on it and so does the diff, but the cover is the weak part.

Nope no contact, I had an elocker motor skid plate, but the gas tank interferes with it.

It's just this tg part

Looks like that brake cable is sitting way out there and just begging to get grabbed and ripped off.

That Budbuilt won't work for me.... and it really doesnt look that stout....

I like this one better, local buddy makes these.

He'd have to redesign it though for the 4runner, not a lot of room up under them.

The first image on this thread will not show up. How did you exactly mod that tg diff armor. I smashed the face of my diff not too long ago, and i have been worried about it ever since

to fit the TG armor all I had to do is chop off the ebrake mount and weld it on the trail gear after i welded on the armor

and Yukon, Knoxtaco on ttora made those for trd trucks.

sweet great news, i have been wondering if that tg armor would fit with slight mods on the e-brake hanger. My e-brake hanger is smashed up anyways.

thanks for the quick response on the old thread
