Make sure you're pushing against the right lever. Get a little mirror to help you see. When I was just blind feeling with the screw driver I could feel two "springs" but one is actuually the flat part that holds the star and the other is the return spring that pulls the tops of the drums together.

Ok, i will try that, I didn't know there were 2 spring you could get through that hole.

Depending on the size of screwdriver you can potentially be pressing against the spring.

What you want to pushing against is "springy" but is a flat metal peice that is chocked up against the "star" wheel.

Grab a mirror and flashlight. You'll see.
