RE: VSA off mod. Different switch ideas?
I don't know if I'm the only one with this problem, but on my 2002 4Runner, I performed the "Andy Mod" to the T. The toggle switch I placed works good, but sometimes I bump it with my knee or forget to turn it "off" after disabling the VSA (which means it stays disabled when I go to turn the 4Runner on again....which means restart).
So I was looking at some options to replace the toggle switch. Any ideas? I am thinking something that would interrupt the current just for a few seconds, then reset itself. Does the "VSA off" switch found on the 2WD 4Runners accomplish this? Maybe the CDL button?

No, can't say I've ever had a problem w/ my knee hitting it...don't know if those switches will work or not either.
However, I do know quite a few guys that have tried to install switches that will allow you to turn the system on and off on the fly, but have came up short each and every time. I'd like to have a switch like this too, but until someone finds a way, I'm okay with how it currently works.

That's funny, I have never hit the switch with my knee. But, my wife hits it all the time. We're not sure how she does it, because she doesn't even feel it. I've taught her to flip the switch back and restart the truck. A solution would be nice.

Maybe try a normally closed relay, activating it with a push button switch. When you push the switch the relay opens, disables the VCS but the relay closes again when you let the switch go. Then every time you start the truck the realy would be closed.

I don't hit the switch that often, but do on occasion. Usually, when getting in or out, and reaching for something in the back seat.
That's exactly what I'm looking for. Any idea which of the OEM switches are like this?
