R-12 to R-134a Conversion
Offhand, does anyone know how much it costs to convert my 92 to 134a so I can fill it up myself?
What's involved, and is it a good idea?

I had my 84 Camry charged about two weeks ago. There is an alternative freon called Freeze 12 that will work on the R12 systems without conversion. I've had the car for several years and it has always cooled OK and I have never had it charged. Over the years though it has become a little less cold. A coworker had a can of R12 that he gave me and another coworker said he could put it in. He didn't know how. He wasted the can and let out what I had left in my system.
So, I had the Freeze 12 put in it and it cools pretty good now. Not great, but pretty good.
I was charged $55.00 for two cans. I really could have gotten by with one.
