quick Question about Coil packs

Hey all ive done alot of searching and found a few times what i was looking for but cant seem to find it now.

I have a 3.4 in my 94 4runner and Desno iridium plugs all around. I dont seem to be getting a constant spark and ultimatly flood the motor each time i try and crank the motor. i did a test to see if im getting spark and the only time i get the spark from the coil pack side is if i really press the plug into the boot. I think i read somewere that the coil pack has a spring or somthing that rests on the plug but my packs seem to be lacking such a piece. aside from the metal piece i can see in the boot is there suposed to be a spring or anything that could have maybe fallen out at some point?

Thanks for any help

I've never looked to see if there is a spring on mine. When I change the plugs I just pull the coil packs out and put them back. Sorry that isn't very helpful though.

if you look up in the boot of the coil there is what looks like a spring. If you have a way to ohm out the coil do it but with the plug inserted into the coil boot (best way to check for a complete circuit all the way to the plug end) I bought my coil (had one go out) for about $70 at autozone.
