I'm replacing my rotors/pads tonight with a friend and my rotors won't slide off...are there any other bolts in the back that we don't see holding the thing on? Or do we just need to yank harder?
Thanks for any advice....this is my first time doing my own brakes

I've never done rotors on a 2wd Toyota but my guess would be that if you have removed the nut that holds the rotor on then you should be able to pull it off. You might want to try tapping the back of the rotor with a hammer. That will probably pop it loose and it'll slide off.

Yeah I went back out and gave it a few good whacks with the rubber mallet and off it went :pat:

There was probably a small rim or layer of rust where the hub and rotor come together (inside rim). Use a small wire brush or sand paper to get the rust off. Then coat each surface with anti-seize compound around the rim. This has prevented my rotors from sticking permantly. Or just take it as it is and remember to have fun banging on it with a large hammer each time.

On a side note - which pads did you use?? I replaced mine with the Performance Friction instead of OEM. Damn the dust that accumulates now. It is making my wife's Volvo look clean. They use super soft pads that generate unreal amounts of dust. I think I'm going back to OEM on the next trip.

I used Hawk performance friction pads...too early to tell whether or not they're leaving a mess, though I'm LOVING the new stopping power I've got. :bounce2:

probably too late now, but on the rotor itself (not the braking surface) are threaded bolt holes - just find 2 of the right size bolts, and evenly insert them. They'll press it right off.
