Quick Gas Mileage Question

Hello,

I've got a 99 runner highlander edition with a 2nd gen S/C, 32 inch MTR's and OME lift. All fuel delivery, exhaust and cooling components are stock. My question is, what kind of mileage is anybody out there with a similar set up getting?? I get about 190 miles out of a tank before the fuel light comes on. Before the mods I was getting about 230-240 miles per tank. Any Help??

Those larger tires will definately have an effect on the mileage...not sure what the other stuff does.

One thing off the top is that with the 32's, your odometer is going to be about 3% low (but your spedo will be dead on), so 190 miles is actually 196ish.

Mods wise, I think Fink was asking about any additional engine mods.

The 230miles were before the S/C, right? And how long has the S/C been on? I'd bet that a lot of the loss of mileage is coming from the new found fun under your right foot. Figuring that you're about 40 miles/tank below where you were, then you're talking about 2mpg or so. That's "normal" for a new S/C owner...

When you say that you used to get 230-240mpg, then you're noting that mileage at the same point when the light comes on, right?

I've had the S/C on for about 6 months now. After doing a search, I am now wondering if it has to do something with the winter gas. I noiticed that my mileage started to slip about a month ago or so, maybe when the gas companies began to switch??

Hmmm, I've heard though that "winter gas" doesn't really get up into our area of the PNW, but I could have misunderstood.
