i am about to lift and purchase larger tires for my 4runner, and i have a couple of questions regarding recalibrating the speedometer.

1) if i were to install a box like the Superlift Tru-Speed, will this void my factory warranty? i am not sure if this is a device that you can just unplug from the computer before i take it to the dealer, and if so, would they be able to tell that the computer had been manipulated?

2) will this box also correct the odometer reading. since with larger tires, the spedometer is slow, and the odometer would be also. by using this box, would that not only correct the spedometer, but cpeed up the odometer as well.

i know the ammount of inacuracy here is minimal since i am only adding 2" to the diameter of the tire, but any info would really help.

1) No. That thing plugs in between your ECU and speed sensor. Un-installing it is easy.

2) Yes it will correct your odometer error also.

A 2 inch change in tire size will throw your spedo and odometer of by about 5 or 6%. That's significant enough to benefit from correcting it. With the Tru-Speed if you want to get bigger or smaller tires later on you can adjust for them accordingly.
