Question About Ignition Upgrades

Is it worth getting a new ignition system (talking all the works...wires, button, cap, distributer, rotar). If someone has experimented with any of the brands out there, which one is the best...i know that this a IMO type thing. I was looking at a Mallory or Accel set up. Will it do anything for my (3.4L) engine? Any help...forgive me but i'm new...

Not worth it considering the 3.4 doesn't have all that stuff...(well it does have 3 sparkplug wires). If your engine is stock, then you will see no benefit by trying to upgrade your ignition. If you need new wires, then most would recommend the OE wires or NGK wires. Oh, and stick with the OE plugs (NGK or Denso) as the expensive plugs don't provide any benefits.

What you have now if there is no problems with it ,is almost state of the art. Point ignition is from the dinosour era and very inefficient.
Keep what you got!
