Probably a dumb question...

I've heard on here a few times that the 3.0 has a good ammount of torque, I was just curious of an example or something? I guess I am not totaly sure what torque is. So can anyone give an example of something the 3.0 is good at that involves low end torque?
Thanks, hope this isn't a dumb question..

Rather than typing a torque explanation out for you... This will give you all you need to know:

Thanks, that was helpful, although I wondered if anyone (maybe Corey?) has a 3.0 specific offroad example?

That is weird Lee, if the vid is there, it should work here, unless there is a permissions thing going on that prevents hot linking.

I found my host turned on that feature the other day and my pics were not showing up in posts.
I had to edit the feature on my hosts control panel.

Silver, low end torque is hard to describe.
It's not like a big horse power boost where you get slammed into the back of the seat when you nail it.

It's more or less pulling (grunting) power when you take off.
The torque is what gives your rig the seeds to pull a heavy object such as a trailer up a hill, or to take your rig up a steep hill while out boon dockin'.

PS, I got your vid to work Lee.
Take the "e" out of mpeg

There are a few cuss words, so mamas, make sure you know where your kids are tonight.

Often times if you email a mpg file, the email program might rename it mpeg.

Bth formats work, and you can take an mpg and rename it mpeg and it will work.

But since it is on a server somewhere, you have to know the exact name of it, or it won't work.
That is what I suspected when it did not work the first time.

Think of low end torque like this: Place your front tires right up against a curb and stop. Now try going over that curb in 2wd or 4hi. You've got to get your RPMs up near 2000-3000 RPMs to get over it. Now try going over that same curb but in 4low. You just have to barely touch the gas pedal and it'll climb right over.

It's the same idea with low end torque. Imagine trying to climb a curb with a high reving honda car engine, or a race car engine where the max torque comes in at 5k+ RPMs. You'd have to rev the engine up to 5000 RPMs just go get over the curb. At that kind of RPMs you'd smoke your tranny everytime you climb something.
