prerunner lift kit
What is the best, least expensive lift kit to buy and install for my 2000 Prerunner 2wd truck? (for "light duty" applications) thanks!

My daily driver Taco is mainly for going to work and getting groceries! I am just looking for a minor custom look! Possibly larger tires- just to hop a curb once in a while or get around traffic here in Miami where most cars cannot go! That's it!- Here in Miami our ground is very flat- either you 4 wheel on dirt/rock paths or play in the mud in the everglades! Supporting a fleet of four cars/trucks including a Steeda Mustang, an off road go cart, 1/2 acre of land (In Miami), house, pool, one kid in college, two more getting close, this is all I can afford! My Taco has over 189K miles and is still running strong- my 4Runner has over 180K as well! My newest Truck is our Honda Pilot with just over 80K. It costs alot of money keeping everything going!!! 2WD is all I need for my truck- just a little more custom look would be ideal! Wrenching all my needed repairs and saving money (self taught) really gets me motivated! My Dad has the handicap tag for his car!! My Taco does just fine!!!!

If so why not lift it instead? A stock prerunner will "hop curbs" just fine.

4-Runner is 2wd- originally bought to pull a boat- Prerunner- it is mainly just for looks- no practical reason- just looks cool- if I do lift the truck I want to do it properly- seems the rear shackle and the front strut extension is the way to go. Assume YotaTech is the place to go for good mechanical advise- purpose of this thread is not to argue why but to gain knowledge on how! Just mechanical advise from people who know how the lift kit work! It all boils down to looks and or practicality! With an extremely limited budget, my only expense will be parts and time!

Here's my advice, google it. Toytec lifts might make something, check them out. Im not going to flame you, my buddy's prerunner trd goes almost everywhere (almost) but he also beats on it alot harder than i do mine..anywho check the interwebs out!

Come on guys- the truck will look cool- remember I am working with what I have! I preferred a 4wd but I was not able to find one locally- I discovered the Prerunner had the same look and build so I ended up with the Prerunner! My only exposure to driving off road was I drove over an 12" curb/embankment here at work! (Office building parking lot)- My Steeda Mustang can not do this! It was very cool so I figured an inexpensive lift kit would be the next logical choice and it would set the truck apart from the others! I have a few wooded areas here in Miami that I take the kids to in our off road go cart- so I think I will try the Prerunner out there next! Baby steps!

Not that i dont agree with you, but he came here for real advice. Thats what we're here for. He made the right choice by going yota and yotatech. I looked on toytec lifts for you and dint find anything, i thought i saw something on there before. Try going on google and searching, try 4wheel parts. Pretty much any general 4x4 store might have something, but not any of our toyota only shops. Sorry for the flaming, but we arent much for poser truck around here.
