Powered Subwoofer Tube???
Hi all. I'm looking into adding some bass to my 03 4Runner. I'm just looking for some nice deep clean bass (Nothing Drastic) to pep up the stock system I have now. I'm leanig towards an 6 or 8 inch power subwoofer tube. Either bazooka or kicker. And have it installed at best buy, circuit city or a local stereo installer. Is this a good way to go? Thanks

If you are going to go that route, I hear the Infinity Bass Link is a hot ticket.
Much better bass response than a Bazooka type one.
I believe a few members here also have the Bass Link.
You can get it cheaper than Crutchfield also.
Just plug in the item into Google and you will find it on Ebay and other discount places.

I think I will spend the extra money that I was planning on spending for this product. Great reviews. If any one reads this post and knows of some one who installed it in a 03 4Runner, where did you the make the woofer its permanent home? Thanks

I have a 12" 400w internally amplified SPLX sub tube in my rig. I'm not a bass-head but this fills the rig with good rich bass. It really adds to the sound experiance...

7" Pioneer TV headunit with cd player
6 disc DVD changer
pioneer components in the front
stock rear speakers

I have a modified 10" bazooka tube. I blew the original driver and replaced the driver with a Kicker F10. It sounds pretty good now. Kicker is a good brand, good value, good power handling, great bass. It has held up well. I don't know if I'd go for that Infinity bass link thing.

I have an amplified 8" bazooka tube in my VW GTI; it sounds very good for the price, 280 to the door.
I find it is enough for the volume of the relatively small interior of the GTI.
I would consider a 10” if you are going the Bazooka route in your 4runner.
On another note, in my sisters 3rd Gen runner, we had a custom box made that replaced the storage bin in the rear of the vehicle. It sounds good, but is not overwhelming. The best part is it takes up none of the main cargo area.
