Power window woes

Power window woes
Hey guys.
Well, I posted on here a little while ago about my power window switch being broken, and got some really good advice about fixing it. But I am back with another problem...
I just called my local toyota dealership about buying a new power window switch, and they proceeded to tell me that it would cost 284 dollars! Apparently you can't just buy the individual switches, only the whole harness, and all 4 switches. I am 16, and definitely don't want to spend that much money for 3 extra switches that I don't need. I have called a couple wreckers, and none of them seem to have any what-so-ever. I am running out of ideas on what to do.
But then I remembered that some of the people who replied to my previous post, said that they just bought a single replacement switch. Where did you get it? is there an aftermarket non-OEM supplier?
If anyone has any information, it would be greatly apprecaited.

Also, if anyone has an extra (working) power window switch, I would be VERY interested in taking it off your hands. If some one wanted to donate one to the "super-broke-but-love-my-toyota" fund, that would be great too.
hahaha

Try a junkyard, http://www.car-part.com/ would be a good place to start, find a nearby yard with the same year truck. Or repair the switch, I did that on my '85 and finally have them working as good as new: http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri...l#WindowSwitch

Never take the word the guys at any wrecking yard. They arent trying to B.S. you, they just have SO Many cars to keep track of, they don't always know what is out in the yard. I have 3 of 4 yards out here that I regularly browse for Yota parts. Just keep checking back every now and then, and, I can't stress this enough, PULL YOUR OWN PARTS. And don't forget, there is lots of Toyota switches, handles, dash parts, knobs ect. in Tercels, Celicas, Camreys, Ect....Ect.
Keep looking and keep checking back here. This forum is full of people with great ideas ready to help.
Good Luck!!

Well, after priceing out a new one (50 + shipping), I decided I would give rebuilding my old one ONE last shot. Annnnd it works beautifully now. I cleaned/scraped the terminals, and then bent the connectors so that they formed a bit more of a V shape. Hence improving the connection, and making the switch a bit more responsive. Saved like 57 bucks, in like 5 minutes. What a deal.
Thanks for all your help guys.
