Power inverter wiring
Hello,
2000 4runner and just purchased small 200w/400w power inverter that I want to install under the passenger seat. Currently there is an old amp under the seat with 10g wire and a 40A fuse connected to the battery.
Can I just remove the old amp and install the new inverter or do I need to change either the wiring or the fuse size?
thanks for any help.
Jon

I wouldn't use old wiring unless by old you mean that you installed it not too long ago.
But, regardless, you shouldn't have any problem connecting your inverter to the battery via that power cable and grounding it. That fuse is plenty for your inverter and that gauge cable should be fine also. I've had a 750w inverter installed in the same wiring configuration for a while. My inverter has a power switch on it though so my inverter doesn't kill my battery, you might want to look into that.
