possibly trading my elocker for the following

a 1979 toyota truck 4x4. with a 20r and a 4 speed. mileage iffy, only goes to 99,999, currently at 97,000 but could be 190 or 290...

anyway here are the pictures, i need to check it out in person first.

how's she run? looks like a good base to start up on, though the '79 trucks are getting pretty rare. wish mine was a shortbox!

on the downside, the fuel pump is in the tank so it's a pain in the butt to change(i did mine the day before yesterday). the 20R is an incredibly reliable engine...mine had nearly 320,000 miles before the front main seal blew and the compression was so low that it had about 75hp. the L43 4 speed it has isn't the strongest transmission but you can bolt up just about any toyota 4wd tranny behind the 20R, since it's essentially a 22R with a better head and less displacement.

from what the guy said it ran when parked (drove it to current location). i was aware of the 20r - 22r thing. running a 20r head on a 22r block gets more compression right?

also wanted to ditch the 4 speed. ive got a bunch of local buddies who are into older yotas. so ive got some help there. if i can find a title for it i might make it a DD before it gets too banged up. plus in MD over 25 years old, no inspection and no emmisions....
