Possible Mods

Got a little bit of a Christmas bonus from work and I'm looking at possible using it to complete some of the mods to my 4runner that I want to do. What I'm looking at the following options

1. Shrockworks front bumper w/ single hoop and sport hood
2. Shrockworks front and rear bumper or possible the CBI rear bumper.
3. TRD Supercharger

I'm weighing each one of the options.

Option 1 would be the cheapest and I would keep some cash in my pocket. Option 2 would still leave some cash in pocket just not as much as 1. Optioning out the CBI and Shrockworks rear bumpers are similar in cost depending how they are configured.
Option 3 would leave very little cash in my pocket and I would be tempted to spend more $$ to the URD pulley and 7th injector kit. Plus, with my 4runner having 166,xxx miles on it I'd be a little worreid about the engine.

Do whatever you want. Don't get the supercharger unless you will also be gettign some kind of fuel mods though. The mileage is not a worry, I supercharged mine with only slightly less miles and it has handled it great.

i think the SC will give the most excitement, i know i gained a huge fun factor with my swap (+100 HP) in drivability.
if you do the URD 2.1 pulley and injector kit that should give you around a 100 HP gain.

now thats something that will make you smile.
keep in mind that import transmission valve body mods need to be done as well.

I would go with option #2. My new front bumper will be heavily influenced by the Shrockworks since I think that is the nicest look bumper for the 3rd gen 4runner. I also considered the CBI for the rear because of their tire carrier and everything looks "right" to me on that one as well. The sport hood is nice, but I think the bumpers will be a better investment/bang for your buck. I don't drive fast so I've never considered a supercharger so that one didn't really factor for me.

Maybe you'll get another nice bonus next year and cross one of the other two options off your list then.

I would go in for option 3. It's something I really want to do but never have the cash. I've made your second option happen just pulling some cash out of the bank every pay period and keeping it in the safe. Before I knew it I was getting a bumper and started the process over and now I'm looking at a rear bumper. Guess I could do the same thing for the SC but I bought a house, a fixer upper, it empties my wallet more efficiently than any yota.
