Question Popular SportEdition options from the Factory

I am talking to a few Toyota dealers in Southern California and I am having a hard time getting a straight answer on what options are the popular packages put together at the factory. Here is what I am looking for..... are having these options put together possible or should I give up? Do you think I would be able to get this type of option package through a special order? Thanks.

2004 Toyota 4Runner
Sport Edition - V8 AWD(4x4)

Color - Galactic Gray or Stratosphere Mica

Options -
SR - Sunroof
PN - Anti Theft Alarm
EC - Electrochromatic Rear View Mirror
NA - 115V Power Source
Z1 - Preferred Accessory Package

looks like a standard package. Maybe the electro-mirror will be hard on a sport, dunno.
isn't 115v standard in front/back?

My V8 came with all that except the moonroof. I lose 2 inches. But they are hard to come by. Good luck in looking. Mine was 1 of 7 availible in 5 states. These can be added at the dealer

PN - Anti Theft Alarm
EC - Electrochromatic Rear View Mirror
NA - 115V Power Source
Z1 - Preferred Accessory Package

I think the hardest part is to find a v8 Sports 4X4.

If that is what you want on your truck, you should be able to get it. If they are giving you a run-around on it, it is because they want to sell what they have on their lot or want to be able to trade one off their lot to another dealership. Mine isn't 4WD but I do have everything lese you listed, including the mirror. Good luck.

is the only way to physically tell the difference between a gen 4 runner that has 4wd vs one that does not the presence of that 4wd dial on the console?

That and is doesn't have the "4WD" on the door. Other than that there really isn't any visual difference.

Personally speaking, I'd pass up on the alarm. Those factory ones are junk . I'd rather install an aftermarket alarm (which will not void warranty).

I do believe that it will not be difficult at all to search for that exact 4runner in the configuration you requested. Ask them to do a search across the tri-state area (as our 4runners are 50state) and I'm sure they can locate one. They're probably just giving you the run-around by trying you to sucker into one of the vehicles they have on the lot.... (Don't fall for that one!)

Good Luck

You might also try Elmore Toyota and talk to their Internet Fleet as that's where I went to get my 4runner. Their prices were very competative and actually was better than Carson.

Good luck!
