i want a billit for my 85, however, i dont want them to cover the headlights!

That was the only billet I could find to fit my truck, I hate the way it covers the headlights.

I was thinking about using the stock grille peices that surround the headlights, and then just using billet in the center, but the stock grille seems to be more practical and less "show truck wana-be" (Yes I know my truck is far from a show truck, and no I am not trying to make it one. )

practical means you spend no money on it and just beat the crap out of it..... by the looks of your truck, you dont use it as a truck, so show truck is fine

It's a 2WD, so there's no way it would really survive off road. I'm going for the "sport truck" look.

I'd say the billet, but honestly, I'm not crazy about how it covers the headlights. Sounds like you're not either.

Looks great otherwise...

Can it be reformed or cut to make room for the lights? Then it would have my vote...

That's what I was thinking. The stock grille is made of 3 peices. The large center peice, and the 2 square peices that surround the headlights. I thought I might be able to remove the center peice, and chop the ends off the billet. Then put the billet in the middle. Wouldn't be that hard to do, but it might look good.

my truck is a 2 wheel drive, and it does quite well offroad... will do even better when i regear and put a locker in it

I've gone to far into the "street truck." Plus I've never off roaded before, but there's a first for everything... Maybe I'll buy a $750 4x4 Yota and take it off road some day, but right now it's all about squeezing as much power out my 22RE as possible and trying to make the truck somewhat quick.
