Plugs Wires

I have 5mm plug wires on my 94 22re. Will bigger 8mm wires be any better? Will it be worth replacing them for any preformance gains!

No plug wire can create performance. New wires will only regain lost performance of aged wires. Yes, wires do degrade and eventually lead to low ignition voltage and misfires.

Will 8mm be better than 5mm? Will 10mm be better than 8mm? When new, all wires perform the same. What distinguishes a good set from a crappy set is the quality of crimps and durability of sheath and conductor. IOW, will it age at a slower rate? Wire diameter doesn't tell you this. Relying on a quality manufacturer does.

If you want a guaranteed quality set, go get inexpensive NGKs. Put the rest of your money into Mobil1.

I bumped up to 8 and it made a difference, but I do concurr with getting some NGK wires. Can't say the same for Mobil1, least not in an older truck.
