I have an 00 4runner with a security alarm, but no pads. I need to identify the stock # of the alarm, but don't know where the alarm is. THANKS

I found where it is and the sticker is missing. Is there only one remoted option for that year? I know I need one that has three buttons, but I think my yota was built in Canada. I'm trying to buy one on Ebay. Thanks.

I just went through this with my 91 4runner. I have the original alarm system manual and it says the control box is under the driver's seat, but it wasn't there. I looked for a long time before finding it behind and above the glove box. If you remove the glove box, it will probably be above where the box was, mounted vertically and attached with a mounting bracket with just one screw on each side. Easy to get at. I don't think you can read the numbers without loosening the 2 screws and lowering the unit. It is a little bigger than a deck of cards. It has a small antenna wire and a wire harnass , and some control buttons to program a new remote. If you need programming instructions, e-mail me and I can send them to you.
