Please decide whats best for me cause im tired of searching.

i have read posts about O2 simulators, cat back exhasts, header group buys (wich looks like an awesome deal except i wont be back from iraq till next year..), header port matching, cali emissions(which i dont have to deal with), and about everyhting else and i cant decide what will gie me more bang for he buck. i have an '01 4runner ltd with 2 cats (which means its a cali emisions Right?) with the deckplate and isr mod. i have posted about removing a cat and using cutouts (wich went down in flames) and i am thoroughly confused and lost. i want to improve performance of my vehicle with out dropping a ton of cash and without a supercharger ( i am planning on getting a supercharged tacoma for my wife next year).

Mostly it is a daily driver, but sometimes we go play in the mountains wich is steep climbing meaning i have to manually drop gears to keep up speed cause my engine is weak. other times we play in the mud or snow or whatever we can find. the killer is the red clay. we just dont have enough ponys to sling through the muck. we end up having to drop it in low and lock the center diff to even have a chance to no get stuck.
anyhow sorry for the novel but i had some spare time and thought it would help give an idea of what i need. so please help me decide what mods i need to buy to get more balls for my truck. i probably only will have a grand untill tax season then i will have some more. thank you for your time and i appreciate the replies

Really no matter what you do there is no cheap way to get a good boost from the 3.4. You can get 5hp her and 10hp there but that is about it. now if you were to get a SC you would get a real nice boost and if you did that other stuff it would be even better but you don't want to do that.

Really there is not much you can do. You could take out a cat and get ~8hp from that alone which is really easy, a simple way is to just gut your stock cat but it is then ruined.... a short ram intake will add a little but with you alreadt having the deckplate and ISR mods not that much.

headers will give you a boost but for the price a SC is not that much more so...

In the end a SC is about the only thing that will give you any real power gains. All the other stuff is just little bits and pieces.

What size tires you running? Do you need to re-gear? (It would have to be big tires for your drop in power while wheeling to keep you stuck in the mud though).
