Pictures of some Beach 4wheeling fun

Went down to Oregon Inlet, NC last weekend. Had alot of fun, it was warm and the sand was extremly soft (great for getting stuck)

I pulled a fellow 4runner out of the ramp, they bottomed out trying to get on the beach.

I got stuck in this pic, gotta love open diff and stock suspension. It made for some good pictures of the rear flex.

This just seemed like a cool shot

A nice shot at the end of the day of my buddy and me

The next shots I take on the beach will be no running boards, 3 inch lift, and some nice 33s to fill the gap.

no, I didnt air down I thought about doing it but it wasnt really a big deal since we had a tow strap. If we kept getting stuck then I would have aired down. And yes he is stuck haha.

Aaahhh Oregon Inlet. Brings back some memories, I can rememer exactly what that sand feels like. Its been a good 12 years since I have been to the outer banks.

I took my '91 truck out there when it was practically new. All we had was a shovel and that managed to get us out of a few stick spots.

I have the Same color 4Runner as you.
And I too have a friend with a Jeep Wrangler.

I too had the running board my first time out, and bad tires, and I have no e-locker.

By the end of the summer I hope to have 2" Bl and 3" Suspension with some 33s

Looks like fun! Next time you in the sand air down to at least 15 PSI preferably lower if you have a way to air back up. It's a night and day difference. At the Norcal Pismo run last year I couldn't even get up to the camp. I stopped and aired down and didn't even spin driving the rest of the way in.

You're not really wheeling in the sand until you air down. Axle hop and drag are ridiculous until you are floating on top of the soft stuff...

You're missing out, sand is one of the most forgiving off-road environments, unless you're going too fast and break a suspension part.

I always air down when I go down to OBX to wheel but didnt feel like doing it this time unless I had problems with the softness.

That is Oregon Inlet which is just south of Kitty Hawk, I usually go up to Corova/Corolla.

ahh i know that area to we stayed near kitty hawk one year, and then way down the beach near corolla/duck the next year. its an amazing place. i actually have a great story about it...were driving down the beach late one night, about 6 miles from the house to the pavement, and were cruising cuz the water level was previously pretty high and everythign was packed and flattened out, and then boom whooptee do size humps out of no where, my buddys dads titan went for a ride, at one point we dove the nose and sand just went straight over the hood like it was water, next thing we knew we were looking at the sky...minor body damage...and it explained why the beers were exploding when we got back lol

It is legal to wheel on certain areas of the beach in NC.

I love riding on the beach. We took a big trip up to Hatteras last summer. Just got to be carefull of the water or you will end up with some pretty nasty undercarriage rust.

I love that color 4runner by the way.
