i am not real sure what you mean by abrasive, but i think that you mean sanding. not sure because i have never really painted anything before that is going to go on my truck. well, i didnt sand it. i just painted it and put some clear coat on it. i only did this to one because the other one got messed up. i have another pair on the way, do you think that i should try something different with the new set. any opinions whould be most helpful.

if youre going to paint on plastic/glass that is meant to emit light, i would definitely NOT sand it down. all this will do is dull/scratch/frost the lens and the it will become translucent.

my suggestion would be to first lay down a super fine coat, not even laying down enough paint to see, but just enough to barely stick to the lens. let that dry completely, then add a new LIGHT coat. repeat as usual, but dont lay on a new coat until the last coat is comepletely dry...this will let you see more accurately how dark your lenses will be. once youre happy, then lay down a clear coat if desired, again adding super light coats each time.

...this was suggested to me by someone that painted their tail lights red. havent painted any lenses before..but sounds about right. when dealing with painting lamps..less is more.

The Krylon Stained Glass paints are apparently numbered (by Krylon) as the 902X series.

Misterart.com seems to use this as the basis for their stock numbers.

The Krylon number for the orange would therefore seem to be 9023.

As you noted, there's no mention of 9023 / orange on Krylon's own Stained Glass webpage. A search on the product number (9023) yields no results. However, a search on [ stained orange ] will turn up mentions of there being a Stained Glass orange color in the Inspirations (sample crafts projects) writeups.

Artcity.com also offers the orange (their number KRY-9023).

I don't want to rain on the parade here, but what does everyone like about the orange corners? I think the clears look better. Don't flame, just asking what the appeal is.

the appeal is that its different. it looks jdm spec, which is what alot of guys go for, the motherland spec. just like having red honda badges. in vw watercooled world, having subtle eurospec (oem side markers, tail lights, air dams etc) touches made them stand out and not look like every other ride...

ive got some clear corners and signals on order, ill put em on as is just to say i had clears, but im gonna paint em amber. i dunno, i just like the look of em. clears are nice, but everyone and their gramma up here has em.

heres a photochopped version of how things will (hopfully) look on my ride once its all said n done (flat black satoshi + ambers). i was gonna try a badgeless grille, but decided it would have been too involving, then the satoshi started to grow on me...

wouldnt it suck if everyones ride looked exactly the same?
