Pics of lifted 2WD Hilux PU's...let's see them!

If anyone has any pics of 2wd Hilux PU's with 2-3" suspension lifts, then please post them. I'm planning to do a fabtech 3.5" suspension lift on my '88 2wd PU. Not sure if I'll do the full 3.5", but maybe 2" to gain some height.

I already have the upper A-arms, lower profile bumpstops, etc. The only thing I need to get is the AAL's and/or extended shackles. Since I still have the stock 14X6" rims on 27.5" LT tires, I believe I'll need front wheel spacers as well.

Before anyone shoots back with "What's the point in lifting your 2WD PU?", let me just say that I'd like my truck to sit a little higher than most family sedans. The new Ford Five-Hundred sedan is practically as tall as my PU.LOL!

Thanks.

jimabena74,

Yeah, most PU's are considered Hiluxes until the Tacoma's came out in '95.

You have a total of 7" of lift: 4" spindles + 3" bodylift = 7". Right?

Since you have the 4" spindles, you only needed half the amount in the back (2" rear shackles) to level the truck out with the 3" bodylift lift. Correct?

Thanks.

Hey, no problem! At least you posted a pic of something.

Actually, my '88 2wd is white in color so your white 4X4 kind of gives me an idea of what it would look like lifted. Or course, not to that extreme though.

yeah i only did 2" in the rear... for no other reason than they only make 2" lift shackles for it, and i didnt want to go stupid and make my own 4" lift shackles like some people do.... really more than 2" of shackle lift isnt a good idea..... i would suggest doing an soa rather.... the rear sits lower than the front, or it did, until i broke and had to replace some stuff..... the 89 anchor arms on the tbars are a revised design and much stronger than the previous trucks.... not sure what year the design change happened but i got some from an 89 in the wrecking yard....

the 4" spindles up front cleared the 31s, but i had to do some rear fenderwell trimming to make turns and compression offroad without rubbing...... even now after the extra bl, i can still get places to rub offroad... aminly its all in hte rear though on the framerail
