Pickup Sunroof Sun Shield Question
I recently picked up a used sunroof sun shield interior piece for my truck, but I've got a little puzzle as to how it gets held in place. The knob on it moves a small rod in and out when turned, but I don't seem to have the 'reciever' part near the sunroof latch where i think the rod is supposed to fit into. Can anyone help me out with a pic or a part# of what i need?

don't think there was a reciever
As I recall from the ones i've seen there is no reciever. It clips in above the latch on the sun roof. all you do is set the metal clips on the front in line with the hinges above the inside trim edge and just push up and it clicks in just above the latch edge. i'll check my owners manual when i get home and pm a copy of the page if I can for you. thanks for the reply!
i've got the shade in the front hinges, and did push up pretty hard, hard enough to feel the sunroof start to lift, but the rod never really touches anything to engage on to...it doesnt appear to be broken or anything like that. Is the a piece or some kind of clip that goes on the end of the rod? Mine is metal, and the end is machined to a sort of bullet end.

Where did you find a cover for your sunroof? I finally gave up looking. Since I did not need it to be removable, I ended up making one out of cardboard and painted it grey to match the interior.

Sunroof shade
Hey If you have one and he doesn't want it. What do you want for it? Let me know. Thanks.

Tossed mine and put some really dark tint on the glass. I hated having the thing on to block the direct sun, but not being able to pop the glass open to let some heat out. Now I can do both. Cracking the windows and popping the sunroof on a really hot day leaves the interior not much hotter than the exterior.

DudeBud,
Thanks for the offer, but I think I will stick to my creation for now. I will probably never remove it since I hate the sun. I know, why would someone live in the sunniest state if they hate the sun? We won't go there...

I actually put 2 layers of limo tint on first. Still too hot and still gave me a migraine. The sun won't get through the cardboard! Also I can open my sunroof anytime. The cover does not affect it's operation.

i got mine off hafftrack here on yotatech. dean, i never got the pic! it tried using some double sided velcro to hold it in place, but that didn't work at all. for now, until i can figure out what i'm missin', i made a small shim/wedge that fits under the latch, but over the shield. it works great! the shield is held in place nice & tight, and I can open the sunroof with the shield in place, and there's no rattles. the quest for holding it in place 'factory style' continues.. does anyone have or can take a pic of what that rod actually fits into?

thanks everyone. apparently, even though i had the shield front hinges, there's no hole (wierd). in 4crawlers pic, there's a part with a hole above the left chrome hinge piece, is that where the rod goes? i definately don't have that...
