Pickup bed reinforcement
I'm new to the forum, but have already received some great answers to a few nagging questions. Thanks a bunch!
Here's another one. I have a '94 xTraCab 4x4. We bought our son a Yamaha 125 dirt bike for Christmas, and I've carried it in the truck a couple of times this week. I'm noticing that when I cinch it down against the front of the bed, the panel bends. I'm concerned that over time, it's going to bend into the back of the cab. Has anyone come up with a good solution to this potential problem?
Thanks,
Rick

I occaisonally carry a 650 dirtbike in my truck and I get something similar. Mine is not going to hit the cab anytime soon but I understand your concern. Maybe a 12x2 board cut to fit along the front of the bed but not block the tie down points would work to distribute the force. If it only happens when you carry the bike you can take it out and not have some cheesy board in there all the time.

I don't know how to fix it but I DO know that you want to do something about it. When I was in High School we carried two 250's in the back of my friends Yota every weekend and the front of his bed was shaped like a U. It was pretty much toast.

Plastic slide in bed liner. I was surprised how thin the bed front was when I pulled mine out for awhile. I greased any wear spots, cut a rubber mat and placed it in the bed bottom and put the liner back in. Some people dont like them, but I like mine.
