Penzzoil full synthetic oil?

Hey I was buying a 5 quart jug of M1 the other day at my least favorite place, Wal-Mart and saw that Pennzoil is now selling full synthetic oil. Has any one heard anything about it good or bad? Just curious.. Why don’t they sell 10w40 in full synthetic anywhere except mail order, well I found it at AutoZone but it is full synthetic motorcycle oil? Anyway..

I'd just stick with M1 since it's probably the best anyway unless the Pennzoil syn is much cheaper.

No its about the same $4.50 or so per quart... I was just wondering how it would hold up compared to Ams.. or M1 I guess they are all about the same at this point, I dont know!

Reguardless of what brand they must all pass the synthetic oils requirements and meet API symbol of approval. No matter what oil you use as long as it is API certified it wont make too much of a difference. That's according to an API engineer that came to our school.

hey be careful with those "5 quart jugs" from Walley World. Check the amount in the jug by looking at the markings. I have gone thru 15 jugs before until I found 1 that was actually 5 quarts, I came across 2 that were only filled to 4 quarts. If I am paying for 5 I want to get 5.

you have any facts on any of your statement or are we just expected to believe somone via internet?...

Reason I ask is I got 220k miles on a Wrangler using nothing but pennzoil since day one, I sold it and I see it running around every now and then....at 150k I had to drop the oil pan and everything looked as expected with a vehicle with 150k miles on it, not clean as a whistle but there was no "sludge" at all....it probably would have looked clean but I dropped the pan when it was due for an oil change so I wouldnt waste any oil heheh.....

Yea I'm another fan of Pennzoil.. Used it for 330,000+ miles in an old chevy never had a single problem with the engine.

i think that pennzoil back in the 50's or so did have sludging problems, but today all of the oils out there are pretty much the same

I had heard the same thing about Pennzoil, but have not seen anything to substantiate it. I used to use Penzoil dino for years in vehicles that I had put over 200,000 miles on with no problems and would continue to use Penzoil products. I no longer do because I've gone from 3 vehicles to 1 and began using Mobil 1 about 2 years ago.
