Painting a Supercharger

I recently bought this supercharger (used) it was completely rebuilt back in May and is good to go. But, the previous owner painted it...

I want to remove the old paint and repaint it. What's the best way of going about doing this?

Just sand and re prime and paint? Or what?

Thanks guys.

-Brian

Yuc.

Well, best way to do it would be to get it media blasted after sealing it up real tight.

Besides that, Could try paint stripper.

I say leave it alone. It must add 15 hp.

But seriously I think Ace has the best idea. Just make sure you've sealed it up good. You don't want that media inside your sc.

Yeah I thought about media blasting it, but i'm really afraid I'll get media into the supercharger and ruin it. I'm afraid what paint stripper will do although that's not a bad option either.

Now that's not a bad idea, i'll still have to seal everything off as to not get dust into the S/C.

if you do use a wire-wheel, make sure the steel won't gouge the sc. if it does, try a brass wire wheel

I'm not even going to mess around, i'm just gonna start with a brass wire wheel, and/or sandpaper.

Yeah he was a real great guy! He was willing to help me out with the install as much as possible. But I agree his underhood painting taste is questionable lol.
