P1130 help!!!

I keep getting P1130 code. This code has to do with O2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1. I have a 2002 tacoma V6. I just replaced the O2 sensor and the light is coming on more often then it was before I replaced the sensor. Everytime I read the code its P1130.

Any ideas what it could be? I'm not sure what else I can possibly do to fix it.

I believe this code is actually related to your air fuel ratio. May check the MAF sensor as this can cause this code to trip as well.

I had this same issue and it most likely is a faulty Mass Air Flow Sensor. You can try pulling it off and cleaning it, I had to end up replacing mine completely ($200 from Toyota).

If you just type in the search "P1130" there are a ton of threads that will address this very issue.

First of all the bank 1 sensor 1 is an A/F sensor, not an O2 sensor so I hope you got that part already.
Second, you have not described any other symptoms other than a CEL. Is the truck doing anything, running erratically, cutting out, etc?
You can check for corrosion on your connector, perhaps the sensor is not getting good contact with the harness.
Also, clean your MAF so that you can rule out the a/f mix being off to start with.
P1130 is a range/performance malfunction, versus a P1131 which is an A/F circuit malfunction (more of a dead giveaway that the sensor itself is bad).
A range performance malfunction could be caused by many upstream factors such as air leaks or other faulty sensors.

ahhh thanks guys, I'm a dumb ass. I thought it was the 02 sensor and I replaced the one in front of the CAT. Too late to return it. The other one was pretty thrashed so it probably needed it anyhow. It has 130,000 miles.

I will put he MAF and clean it. I tend to clean it every now and then. The truck will have a slight stutter some times when I gun it. Like it isn't getting enough fuel for about 1 second or 2.

P1130
Air/Fuel Sensor Circuit Range/Performance. (Bank 1 Sensor 1)

Are you sure its the MAF? I went back to look at a list of codes, and it sure seems like this code is pointing at the 02 sensor. I'm a bit confused on this.

P1150 is for Band 1 Sensor 2. There is no MAF sensor 2.

What am I missing?

Bank 1 sensor 1 is the A/F in front of the Cat. You replaced the right one IF it needed to be replaced. Bank 1 Sensor 2 (the one after the cat) is the O2.

I still think you need to take a peek at your MAF and look for open/cracked/loose fittings in your intake and vac lines. If you replaced the front A/F sensor with the right one --> http://www.urdusa.com/index.php?cPat...i8l6apigmgq132 <--- and you are still getting the code, then you clearly have an issue elsewhere.
I assume you are also properly clearing the computer? I usually pull the battery cables and touch them together for about 60 seconds.
There are clear diagnostic procedures for testing each of the sensors and systems in the truck within the main ncttora link: http://www.ncttora.com/fsm/1996/SIL/fsm/repair.html
Also, I am making the assumption that you used a Denso a/f sensor. I have read that using Bosch or other aftermarket brands lead to frustration.

yes, I replace the A/F sensor with the 9003 one listed for a 2002 V6 manual denso brand. It was identical to the one that came out.

I also pulled the MAF and it looked fine. I clean it from time to time. I really don't know what else I can do. The truck runs fine, I just can't keep the CEL from coming on. I clear it with a code reader and within 20 minutes its back.

I'm getting P1125 motor too cold to run fuel delivery in closed loop (or something similar to that) when the truck is still warming up. I monitored the B1S1 voltage today while the check engine light came on and its pegged at a constant voltage. I don't think the front A/F 02 sensor was the problem. I also monitored the MAF output and its working. All the temp sensors (air, water) they are all working. I am stumped... This is going to drive me nuts.

For P1125, the FSM says Throttle control motor circuit malfunction.
