Overhaul and Upgrades - Parts Opinions pls
Hi,
I am new to the Yota world, having given up my xterra and come to the dark side
I have just purchased a 1995 4runner with a 22re, 189Km and am doing an overhaul, I have done a search for these parts but I couldn't find alot of specifics as to parts;
I wanted to get some opinions;
TRW Timing Chain, - looked at the OEM toy part and it's $440 CDN, the TRW is $160 for the kit, any opnions? I have read the DOA chain guide posts but don't see the cost/benefit for a daily driver (I can replace the timing chain in 3 more times for the same cost)
PaceSetter Header - Have seen alot about the Downey and the TRD, agtain at nearly double/tripple the cost, I just didnt see the benefits.
$270 CDN vs $580 or $675 for TRD
TRD Level one Cam - I have this one on order, $25 bucks more then the Crane and $100 Less then the DOA. I have heard that the TRD will just drop in without timing adjustments or computer chip upgrade. Make sense?
Brakes, have done the searches, same with K&N FIPK and lubing the shafts and went with Firestone Destination M/T's.
My main goal is to increase fuel consumption and low end performance for offroading, anything to add?
Thanks in Advance guys and Gals
