Overdrive shifting problem resolved

I did a search on the forum and found a soulution to my problem and I want to say a word of thanks to you guys.

My 95 4Runner was taking a long time to shift into overdrive in the mornings. During my search I found one member who had the same problem. His fix was the bypass coolant line that delivers coolant to the temp sensor on the rear of the 3.0 engine was clogged. Mine was kinked and not allowing the coolant to reach the sensor. Although the temp gauge on the dash was reading normal operating temp, apparently, the sensor wasn't going to the higher limits until heat being disapated from the engine warmed the sensor enough to allow a overdrive shift. The kink was in the form shaped rubber hose. So, $10.00 at the dealer and the problem went away. Shifting fine now. I also notice a slight roughness in idle cleared up as well. (truth be told...it was my own fault as I changed the head gaskets back in March and kinked the line when I reassembled.)

Again, thanks to all you guys 4Running out there and to this forum for all the help.
Bruce
