Overdrive Jerk
Ever since i've owned my 91 yota it has had this annoying jerk when it shifts into overdrive. It's not overly harsh or anything and doesn't always do it but it's not somthing that i isn't normal either. Does anyone know what could be the cause of this problem. After a little research on here i greased the slip yoke but it's still there. Also if i'm accelerating pretty hard or if i back my foot off the accelerator before it shifts into OD it doesn't do it...THANks for any help

I think I have the same problem, when it finally shifts into OD the tranny "kicks" into gear. I think it's just time to rebuild the tranny...I have almost 200k miles on it. I think I might try to rebuild it myself since I'm learning about rebuilding trannys at school right now.

Yeah we did that for a project in my class here at Greenville Tech for General Motors. It was fun. Our project was a PITA because it was a Dodge transmission and all I've ever worked on were GM's Turbo 350 and 400, 700R4, 4T65e, 4L80e, and the Allison trannys. I cant wait until I am good at it then I will be making the $.
