Opinions and questions for wheel experts?

I recently stepped up to the world of the 285's a few mos ago. I love them, but like others running stock wheels the tires rub on the A-arms at full droop. Im thinking about new wheels with a diff back spacing to fix this and Ive always liked the look of black wheels. I found some of these on the JEGS website link----> jegs and had a few questions for anyone who has owned them. How do you like them? Are they hard to balance at all cus there steel wheels? And with a 285-75-16 would it be okay or better to go with 16x8 vs the stock 16x7? And last of all what back spacing would fix my tire rubbing problem!! Thanks for any info.

Any backspacing *less* than what you have now will move the wheel (and tire) away from the a-arms:

Or try a wheel spacer.

I have a set of used AR 767 black steels that I would consider selling you.

They are 16x8 with custom 4 3/8" back spacing. Which, IIRC is the same as stock. But the extra inch to the outside pulls the tire away from the A-arm. I ran them for about 2 yrs with 285 BFG MT's, I wheeled them io NM, CO & Moab and they worked well.

In fact, since I am in ABQ, you could even try them with your stock A-arms to check for clearance before you commit. They still have 285 BFG's mounted, although they are getting low on tread.
