Hi All,

Well its been a long time since I've been on the site, but it's good to see everything is still kickin'

As you've probably guessed from the title, my radiator failed internally and mixed the antifreeze and transmission fluids to make a nice pepto-bismol shake. I think I caught it pretty fast (within a day or so) and had it power flushed twice along with the radiator replaced. I also had the coolant system flushed. The fluid is still pretty "candy apple red" looking with no water contamination visually, and the truck runs fine also.

I REALLY TAKE CARE OF MY TRUCK, It has been the BEST vehicle I have ever owned. I baby it. Its washed weekely, waxed about once ever two months. mud mats, extra sets of mats, the whole 9.

Should I worry about the xmission? Or should I sell it while its still good? Its got 172k on it now, purrrrrrs like one with 50k, looks like one with 50k. drives like one with 50k.. etc..

Your thoughts?

well, I dont know much about the coolant, but I do know...when you get water in ur tranny, and catch it quick enough...you're all set, I have waterlogged mine several times, and not had a problem...except...once, I drove for 2 weeks without knowing there was water in my tranny, before it went. All the other times, no more than 20-30mi, before I flushed, and was fine. Again...this was muddy water, NOT coolant, I have no idea if the coolant is worse...I would expect muddy water to be worse tho.
Goodluck!!
If you do wanna sell it, and its a v6, I may be interested

just get the tranny flushed - not just drain/refill - get a full flush and drive it till it dies. then call IPT and get a new one that will last another 200k. Id rather sleep with the devil i know than the one i dont know - dont sell it if its still good.
