One rim = one tire size?

Just wondering, can different tire sizes be used on a given rim, or is it one size tire for one rim? I'm running 265/70/16's on my 98 4-runner, and wondering if larger tires would fit on the stock rims.

You definitely can go bigger tires on the same rims. Many people are doing that, usually it's the wheel well that prevents going to much bigger tires.

if u do get bigger tires its gonna throw off ur speedometer. just do a search on yahoo for tire calculator and u can find some sites that tell u how faster/slower the new speedometer will be.but if its not a drastic change in diameter i wouldn't worry bout it
