Another OME lifted 3rd gen

So far I am extremely pleased with the ride. I had a lot of butt sag with the stock stuff and constantly hit the bumpstops when offroad. Now I have plenty of clearance.

I was amazed at the difference in the stock coild compared to the OMEs. Its no wonder they sag, they are wimpy!

So here is a question for everyone....do my 265s look too small? (Keep in mind it will settle a little).

I have 265 still for decent MPG on the highway and I think it looks ok.
Let it settle a bit and then decide.

Regarding the 265's - I think they look good but MTL_4runner is right - wait to see where the setup settles before making the ultimate decision.

I have the same lift and I can say the 265's may look a little small, but when you're out wheelin', they work perfectly and don't rub at full compression/extension. Excellent choice!

Thanks for the comments. The tires aren't that old and I wasn't to thrilled about having to buy new. I think I will wear these out and perhaps go bigger next time.

I should also mention that now that my 3rd gen is lifted I am finally taller than the Wife's 4th gen! I am a man again!!! lol

In case you haven't read any of my other postings I lifted my Wife's 4th gen before doing my own!! What was I thinking?

With a lift you can just back up until it stops and never worry about scraping "your" bumper~!!

Sometimes you can even gain a couple inches parking if you can clear the other guy's bumper.

i have to parallel park in the tightest of spots all the time here in boston. im lifting mine in a month or so... no more excuses!

Lee, you're from Boston....you must know how to bump park right?
I used to do it all the time, you only need about 6 in to 1ft longer than the vehicle to park.
....takes a little while to work yourself in there though.

I would only do it in downtown....there is a serious lack of parking and all the free spaces are getting taken back by the state.

they are all taken back now. there are no free spots downtown, and now the meters run till 8pm, not 6pm.

so yea, its rough down there. patience goes a long way though.. if you circle long enough, youll get a spot.

Looks good. Regarding the 265s,if those are 265/70s then just bump up to 75 series to fill in the gap a little more while not altering the speedo too much.

Do you have 265/75s? If anyone has a pic of 265/75s with roughly 2.5" of lift I wouldn't mind seeing them.

I have the 265/75 and mine is still stock but once I do my lift they actually might look a tad small but I'm gonna just stick with the 75s since they don't alter the speeddo or mpgs too much.

What set up did you use and how big are those tires compared to 31x10.5's?

As for comparison to those tires, I really have no idea. They are 265/70R 16"s. In comparison the Wife has 275/70R 17"s on her 4th gen. Those are about the same as 32.5" tires.
