ome/toytec lift help!!!

Ok so I just got my ome/toytec lift. I got front and rear springs and shocks, front diff drop and toytec spacers for the front to make it a 3 inch lift. So I got everything put together and started to install the fronts with spacers. New bigger bolts in the top plate just as instructed. Put the shock in bolt the top up and go to put the bottom bolts in the strut and I'm about a half inch of. We used pry bars and had two people push them down and could not get the bottom bolt anywhere close to in. We gave pushed to upper control arm so far that it is hitting the coils on the spring and it will physically not go any further. I am still about a half inch away. I don't know what else to do. They said this kit would work perfect and it is simply not. Any suggestions or has anyone had this same problem?

It sounds like you've done something wrong with the assembly. Double check everything. Also, I couldn't quite understand your write up 100%, but are you tightening the top bolts all the way? If so, leave them slightly loose.

Um, nope, you are doing things correctly. That is very common. I've had that issue with my toytech lift, and my brothers OME lift, and both of my fathers trucks OME lifts.

You just need more leverage. The biggest pain is in the Toytech lift, because the springs hit the upper a-arm (By the way, a nice byproduct of the Toytech lift is that the springs will hit the arm while you are wheeling too, and it makes a nice noise, just so you are aware of it). THe OME doesn't seem to have that issue.

That said, you just need to keep forcing the strut in there. It will go, eventually. You will have better luck with 2 or three people. One or two on the pry bar pushing the upper a arm down, and another prying the shock into place.

Just keep your fingers clear for when the pry bar comes off, or the strut pops out.

Well I tried it both ways with top bolts lose and tight. When I put the bolts on and push down on the control arm to push down the bottom shock mount hole to align with bottom shock hole. There is about a half inch more I need to go. The control arm physically will not move any further down in orde to align the two. We tried everything we could. I tried it with out the top spacer and it bolted right up no problems. When we have the spacer in the control arm doesn't have anymore room to go down. It is hitting the spring

Turn your bottle jack upside down and stick it on top of the BJ nut, between that and the top of the inner fender and start jacking down. You could also back off your LBJ's and pop it off the LCA's, bolt your shock in and then put a jack under the LCA to get things back together.

When I installed mine, we used a long breaker bar to wedge in and push the UCA down. It took some serious leverage. Double check everything, but it sounds like you just need more leverage.

That is what I did to get more space to put my Tundra coils/adj. Bilsteins put in.

Well I will try all of this here soon. Right now I'm just rocking the emu kit front and back with out the front spacers. Has a slight rake to it which I don't care for. But its all working great and rides good. Thank you guys for all your help.
