OME 906 coils

Well I decided to take the plunge and try these instead of my 890s because they are really still a bit high for what I want and too much rake may be affecting my gas mileage (used to get 21 MPG highway, but now I'm in the 18-19 range). These springs would be perfect for people running Tundra springs up front or 881s with spacers, but I just don't want to be that high up front or even have to run a diff drop (CV angles are fine as is) or panhard drop/bar in the rear (with 890s you really should be running one). I was hoping somone would want to swap 906s for 890s but I didn't get much response so I decided to just order a new pair from NWOR (I've heard horror stories about them but I've had good luck thus far....got my other OME stuff there) since it was too much $$$ to have Phil ship them up here from TX. They were in stock when I called so hopefully they'll be here in about a week or so and I can get them installed and well broken in by X-mas.

Right now my truck sits at about....
Front with 881s - 36.25"
Rears with 890s - 37.5"

I am hoping the 906s will be about 36.5" or so after settling, but we'll see.....I'll update this with info/pics after I install. I was planning to run a set of airbags in the rear as well for carrying loads.

I think airbags are pretty sweet. My dad has them on his tundra, and they are perfect for camping/big loads.

Id like to see how they work on a 4runner!

Like I mentioned above the fender to ground should be about 36.5" (so about 1.5" over stock for me)
Same as I have now, Michelin P265/70R16's

What kind of height (fender to ground) are you getting off those 880s?
I realize it will be about 0.5" higher just because of your 265/75's.

The springs aren't even out yet so I can't take those until I get my new ones.
See my signature for pics of what they look like on the truck.

Do you have spacers up front or just tundra coils?

I have OME881s up front with no spacers.
If someone had Tundra coils up front with (Bamachem's) 3/8" spacers they would probably sit within 0.5" of level.

I think Tundra coils will give you about 36.75" (on 265/70's) with no spacers (not positive on that though).
The additional 3/8" spacer should give you about another 0.5" on top of that.

Wow, I'm surprised you're that high in the back still.
How long ago were those put on?

Hope mine will settle about 36.5" to 36.75", but we'll see when I get them on and they settle after a few heavy loads in back. I know I asked Vegaskurt and Localmotion and both of them said they settled to about 36.5" with no load.

Anyone else running 906's and care to give a measurement?

Thanks Simon I got it and that would be great if you could post those!

It's nice to finally have a thread with some good baselines for people not looking for 2" of lift or more.

Well I am running 881/906 and I am nose high. It is noticable. I don't have the exact measurement yet but it is a reverse rake... LOL.

Sounds like you made your 4Runner into a Prerunner.

Post em up when you finally get some measurements.

After I made my rear bumper I added a set of the trim spacers to the rear of mine on the 906 coils. It raised it about 1cm. I have been happy ever since. Well... I now regret not getting the comfort shocks.

Kurt, what are you running for springs/spacers up front? Height?

Yeah, I have been really happy with the comfort shocks thus far, definately recommended.
