OME 883 Question

Just wondering who is running these coils on the front and if they are running a top plate spacer as well? Finished product will have a custom tube bumper and 9k winch or bigger. Thanks.

The 883s have proven to have a better spring rate and handle more weight over time without sag vs the 882s. Just from what I have read. Miller might chime in, too.. He's had his 883s for around 2 years now. He was used as a tester before they were even put into production in the states. Must like them cus he still runs them

With ARB, Full budbuilts, and 10k winch, it is almost level with the 891's in the back. When I take out the spacer (rollover cone) in the rear, it will be level.

I'm running 883's in the front and 891's in the back. I have an ARB in the front with a 9.5XP winch, and its level front and back and I see about 3" of lift.

Whats surprising about the 883/891s is the ride is really smooth. I thought it was going to ride like a log wagon but nope it rides really smooth WITH THE ARB and winch. I tried it without the bumper and it about shook my kidneys loose.

No spacer here either. I'm not sure how much lift I got over stock because I had Daystar spacers before, but I'd guess 2.75-3". I have an ARB and NO winch and it sits very level with my 891s. The big difference is once you add more wieght from a winch, skids, etc.. the 833s don't sag like the 882s. I can sit on my front end and it barely goes down, maybe <.5" at the most and I weigh 250 lbs. I got the 883s because I plan on adding more weight and I'm glad to read that Yukon is running a winch and skids and it still almost sits level with his 891s - That's the whole reason I went with 883s over 882s, so I wouldn't need the top spacer later.

I think the 883s would be too stiff w/o an ARB (or similar) bumper like Fog said, it'll be a kidney bustin ride! Mine ride good, but here's some advise: DON'T buy E-rated (10 ply) tires with 883s because that is stupid stiff. Go with D-rated (8 ply) with the 883s.

Whoops forgot to change it. I have 883's for sure.

To elaborate a little, I had the 882's with the skids bumper and winch, and it sagged so I upped to the 883's and it actually rides much better! I think Im going to go to 890's in the rear to make it ride a little better. The only time the 891's rode right was with 4 people in the car full of gear towing a trailer.

Nice. At 1st I was thinking about swapping out my 891s for 890s or LC coils, but I've gotten used to them now and since I carry a lot around with me, they are probably going to stay.

So aside from Fog and Brian, what type of measurements are you seeing? I have read conflicting stories on the real height of 891's. I am looking to get around 3" overall when it is said and done.

When I purchase my OME a few years ago I was told I would get around 2.5" of lift all around; however, I think I actually have close to 2.75" in the front and 3.25" in the rear. I have never measured them, but by the looks of the rake those are pretty close specs. I cannot remember the actual part numbers, but I know I have heavy duty fronts/rears. I also know I clear the 285-75's by a mile in the rear!

I'm going to post up some pics later today in the day... I have since installed some newer Tundra rims on brand new (Pep Boys) Definity Dakota M/T, painted all my cladding/bumpers a charcoal gray and removed the running boards.

I'm just throwin this out there cause I haven't heard any one talk about this but...what if you used the Eibach coils from Toytec? They're rated at 620# so they should be able to handle the weight and they are progressive so the ride should still be comfortable. I haven't personally used them, just giving you another option.
