Oil in intake , pics
I have noticed smoking from the tailpipe since it has gotten cold here. It looks just like smoke from starting on a cold morning but it smells and is thicker. I took the intake off to clean the throttle body and found oil in the intake so I replaced the pcv valve last week. I just took the intake back off tonight to check on it and found oil in the intake manifold . what could it be? truck runs great with no hesitation ,loss of power , etc.

sounds like the drain inside the valve cover is clogged and the oil that should be draining back down is getting sucked up by the pcv valve and into the intake.. mine does the same thing..

in the passenger or driver side? the drivers side has a long pcv hose that is part metal , part hose that goes to the intake before the tb , i am not sure if it is that one as there is not any oil build up in the intake , just the intake manifold. The passenger pcv goes in at the throttle body , but i dont see how that one would not drain down correctly or get clogged. it is a large hole in the valve cover. have you attempted to fix yours? I believe this is also really affecting my gas mileage , either by burning oil in the cylinders or the oil messing the o2 sensor up.
