Oil capacity in a 3.4
I was on 4x4wire, and someone had a post about how much oil a 3.4 can hold. Since im not registered there, I deceided to post it here, because they are all saying that theirs take 5.5 qts and is exactly on the full mark.. Well i can put 6 qts on mine and its still a little bit lower than full.. what gives?

Same for me. When she was new I used 5.5, but now it's a full 6 and it's in the middle. I DO let it drain a lot longer now though. Used to be 5 mins now 30 mins.

From what my training technician taught me was that you are "supposed to change oil at operating temperatures that way the oil sludges and dirt has not yet sunken yet to the bottom of the pan." Also when you fill the oil and check the dipstick the oil must also be at operating temps. so that the readings are more accurate.
