Oh My God, I'm Gonna Cry - Part 2
So after being 2 days without my 4Runner, I finally got it back today. As some of you already know, my 4Runner had tried to go somewhere no 4Runner should go (not enough height clearance). It ripped off the front roof rack bar and dug scratches down to the metal.
I got the front roof rack bar for $10 USD from Wild_Bill, thanks so much Bill! Great people in this forum, I must say.
For $300 Cdn. ($196 USD) that has got to be the best body work I've ever seen. The paint match is 98.8% perfect. He mimic'd the sun-warn paint as best as possible, took out all the dents on the roof, sanded and painted the roof and rear upper-quarter panels down to the stripes on the side. You cannot tell anything was ever wrong with the roof.
The work is top notch and it's never looked better. I only wish the rest of the truck was in that perfect a condition. I asked him about sanding everything down and repainting it to perfection sometime too and he said $1400 Cdn. ($915 USD) would do it. Pretty cheap for a top of the line 'sand everything down' and do a proper paint job quote. Maybe later on I'll try a new paint job for the Runner.
Anyhow, that ordeal is now a part of the past. Time to focus on 'adding' versus 'fixing'.
Up next: Bilstein shocks. Just got the email confirmation from PerformanceProducts.com that they are being shipped. Woohoo!

Sounds good Al. Yup, something about repainting just cannot exactly match the original color perfectly. My rear spoiler was repainted 3 times by the Toyota body shop. It too is 98.8% matching... I can live with that for the spoiler. Now if it was a door or fender... paint color can vary by10-15% and be acceptable in the body trade...so I was told. I sure don't wanna have a 2 tone truck, I tell ya what...that is a great price for a complete paint. Bill-y's next eh? lucky guy.

Sweet deal glad to hear you got your truck and it is in good shape. I've heard alot of horror stories with body shops but sounds like you found a good one
