Offroading sound

I have a 2nd gen pickup. I have recently started doing some offroading with it. I noticed that when I'm driving out of any deep hole/ditch the truck makes a "snapping/pinging" sound. Is this normal?

I know it's not the steering stops because I have replaced them. Is it just the torsion bar or leafsprings making normal sounds or should I be checking into this?

Wow, you may want to take a look at your CV's and universal joints to see what sort of shape that they are in.

I replaced my CV's, tie rods, steering arms and shocks less than 10months ago. I regularly check and grease all u-joints. I'm stumped as to what it could be.

It may be the rear leaf springs during the flex. I don't know why, but a local 4x4 shop told me this was normal operation when I had my old Blazer.

Hmm that would make sense. As it always happens when I crawl out of a ditch/hole. The point where the rear is just getting into said ditch/hole.

Yeah quite possibly it then. I don't know if its the leafs itself that would pop or maybe the hangers. Maybe someone on this board could help clarify it for both of us.
