Official 2.7 Cracked Manifold list

I dont think we have one of these, so if you have had to repair a cracked manifold post up..
Please try to keep the thread clutter down..

ouch.. my 2000 cracked in the same spot! replaced it with a obx header, direct bolt in, perfect fit!

I'm sure you know about the factory header conversion?

Its already on the way ala deathcougar, Truck is parked, and i am back to driving the 4Runner for a lil, speaking of which I need to check its mani..

mine cracked twice
same spot as u and the the next spot over
whats wrong with driving it with a cracked manifold? (other than the exaust being louder)

cracked at 100k, replaced it with a new used lce header

From what I have heard it can cause one or more of the exhaust valves to burn..

That is correct. A cracked manifold allows cold and unmetered air into the exhaust system, which can damage the valves among other things.

Found mine today - a pretty nasty crack (almost split in two, I think). I think it cracked earlier in the week.

1999 4runner 2.7L with 163k miles on it.

Had to deal with this BS on the 4runner, now I'm dealing with it again on the taco

I've got to head out of town on business for a few days next week, so I'm not going to have any time to address this for at least a week or two. Do you guys see any problems with my wife driving the truck in that condition to and from work, and maybe to the grocery store for a week or so before I fix it? That'd be both city and hwy driving.

It should be fine. My truck has 260k and I just changed the manny yesterday, i'm pretty sure it had a lot of miles with a crack manifold, but now no problems.
