Installed the bumper, valance, bumper filler, headlight fillers, and the bumper lights today. The harness pigtail connectors that came with the 03 bumper lights is not compatible, but your O.E sockets still fit. Although the purchase of amber bulbs is recommended, due to the lens being clear on these models. The aftermarket bumper filler came with no hardware, so after I get it painted I will use some button head screws to hold it down...the headlights and corner lights are on the way from Ebay as we speak. Gaps have not been set, because the grille has to come back out to mount the headlights, and the bumper will be adjusted accordingly then.

Lookin' good 91... If it were me I'd leave the turn signals white it's perfectly legal and you don't get that ugly orange spot during the day.
That later model grille is much more interesting then the older one... I forget did you paint the valence body colour to match?
edit: just had a thought Has anyone tried to do the Satoshi mod on one of these late model grills? I think it would be an amazing look...

The truck is actually Hunter green..I will be painting the upper bumper filler to match, but I am leaving the valance black. Replacement hood just has a black e-coat....
but the core support was matched as closely as possible with rattle-can. After the headlights go in, and everything is buttoned up, the visibilty is so minimal it is hard to see the shade difference.

As for the white thing check out old 60/70s cars many of them just had a white light for the signal.
And even if you do get stopped all you have to say is the amber must have cooked off sir/ma'am I'll have it fixed...

O.K! Headlights finally came in and I was able to finish the swap! The picture you see below is the bracket I fabbed up from aluminum. It is meant to hold the headlights if you don't purchase the 01-04 fenders. Hey, a 10 dollar piece of aluminum is cheaper than a 65 dollar fender!

And here she is in all her glory!! Gaps have been set....all that is left is to get to the dealer and order that weatherstrip that seals the top of the grille to the hood..and thats it..all in all about 600 bucks to do this swap. I hope this helps anyone looking to do the same!!!

WoW that is awsome! I'm bring home a wrecked 99 TRD X-cab in a few days and digging up all I can find on the swap.
I priced my conversion parts out at $1000 - $1500.
$600 ~ We gotta talk !!!
Is that the Black light set from Ebay (Headlights / corners / and turn signals) "2001 2002 2003 2004 TOYOTA TACOMA BK HEADLIGHTS 6PC SET" ???
If so what do you think of them?

Haven't gotten the parts yet, but I am currently talking to a member here about his 04 bumper that he is giving away free...trying to get it shipped to me..I am gonna change out the core support, but keep the fenders..I can fab some corner light brackets..if that is th ony difference. It will be done soon...
Ahhh ~ A free bumper! That saves a ton, buying the bumper pieces individually adds up fast. That could be the price differernce + I'll need fenders.

Nice to see people doing custom work to improve their vehicles, but man that thing has a bad body line when you look from right to left where the hood meets the grill! Can you twek with the hood stops to adjust that? Maybe I just notice these things more since my buddy owns a body shop. We had a guy do his own body work and bring it in for paint. The hood overlapped the fender!
